It's easy to skimp on quality skincare products when you are young, and ignore the advice of those in the skincare industry. Though the skin you can see is looking good, the damage is being done to the skin you can't see. Tanning, smoking, alcohol consumption, diet, and progession in age is affecting your skin now, though you can't see it yet. Proper skincare is essential now to prevent early signs of aging, just as abstinence from nicotine, alcohol, and tanning-even if you think that tanning gives you a "healthy glow", and you never worry about skin cancer (which has been progressively increasing in young women), the aging process is something every woman worries about, and preventative measures now can help you look young for years to come.
Proper cleansing, toning, and moisturizing your skin now can take many years off your face later. Microdermabrasion can help cleanse the skin and keep the pores open, helping with acne, and minor breakouts, and preparing your skin for other treatments. Cleansing, toning and moisturizer should be done prior to bed as well as in the morning, to be most effective. Harsh soaps can deplete your skin, so gentle cleansing is important.
So what if you didn't start early? Do you think the damage is already done, and you can't do anything more?
It's never too late to start a good skincare routine, however now you may need to add some additional products, such as resurfacing peels and microdermabrasion, and creams to help with filling and firming, to help your skin look it's best. Sunscreen at this point is imperative, to prevent further damage to your skin, although it was important when you were younger too. I can't stress using sunscreen enough-and this is important for men as well as women of any nationality. Skin damage will occur and skin cancer even in dark skinned populations is on the rise. Prevention is always the best policy when it comes to skincare.
Using sunscreen and self tanners for your face is effective and a great way to have the "healthy glow" without the effects of aging. There are a variety of products, including bronzers, that can enhance your glow. It really is no longer necessary to bake, or visit a tanning bed to achieve the healthy look you crave! Your skin will thank you in years to come!
Now that you have your focus on skincare, remember that your face isn't the only thing that can age rapidly. Your hands are exposed to much more harmful environmental exposures than your face, so it's important to keep them protected too. Hands are often exposed to chemicals, sunlight, detergents, and other things we would never dream of putting on our face. Using a scrub such as a salt or sugar scrub on your hands, and using a hand cream with sunscreen will keep your hands looking young, so don't forget them, or they will tell your age!
