Anti - Terrorism Day

jayanti raman
Today being anti-terrorism day, I felt as a writer it is my moral obligation to devote some time to the deadly menace, which like aids or cancer is fast spreading in our society. Every day the moment we open TV or news paper we come across news of terrorist strike and spreading death to innocent lives and spreading their tentacles and creating fear in our just society.

Who is a terrorist?
In our peace loving and just society some religious fanatics, misinformed youths are becoming terrorist. These people have violent ways of expressing and showing their protests. Some times this part of society could be a victim of our social, religious, territorial or even historical events.

It is also been seen that in order to get some political gains youth are misguided and instigated for sectarian violence in the world.

Youth in across the world are like clay and it all depends upon our society how it is able to mold them. This part of society has lot of energy, fresh mind open to new thoughts and ready to act. It is most misfortune that on the name of religion, creed, and colour we are misusing our best part of our society i.e. the youth. The youth today is the future citizen of the world. Society should use them for better causes and develop into fine citizen instead instigate them to act of madness.

How is terrorist formed?
On research it is found that some times history is responsible for terrorist and terrorist activities. Now look at back ward, the Russian invasion to Afghanistan, which prompted American's to back Pakistani fundamentalist and religious fanatics, ISI who are loyal to Afghanistan rebels fought Russian's. These Mujahideen received training and funding were backed by Americans. Osama and his Mujahideen friends fought bravely and pushed Russians, but later these very people started creating terror and are now in "Global War on terrorism'".

Similarly partition of India and Pakistan saw the breeding ground for terrorist and later war of 1971 which saw the division of East Pakistan and emergency of Bangladesh, where these were huge on slaughter of Hindu and Muslims.

Bangladesh separation could not be digested by Pakistani and left a deep scar in the minds of people of Pakistan. This brought proxy war against India by ISI, LeT and others backed by the religious fundamentalist.

Think of Chechnya, Iraq, East Africa, Sudan, or any other place, terrorist are born due to the consequence of the local atrocities.

Hmm... putting cahotek's idea with yours, maybe the best in a falling debris situation is to lie under a table next to the wall. Great article, super tips!

Good pointers on what to do if trapped in a terrorist situation. Let us hope that none reading this will ever have to apply this information in the real. At the same time, let us not hide from the fact that we know who are the terrorists. That could go a long way toward interdicting such situations. Good work, Jayanti.
