Anti Valentine's Day Girls Night Out

An Anti Valentine's Day Party for Ladies

The Anti Valentine's Day Party is a fun way to celebrate independence, hang out with your girlfriends, and enjoy a sometimes difficult or disappointing day. Your Anti Valentine's day party should be a celebration of your individuality. Don't spend Valentine's day sulking or wishing you were coupled, just realize Anti Valentine's day can be an important part of your year - a time to refresh, have fun, and look forward to an amazing spring, a suprising summer, a rejuvenating fall, and a cozy winter! Even if you're with someone, an Anti Valentine's party might be just the thing to liven up a blah winter.

Decorations: Decorations for Anti Valentine's day should avoid red with pink. Black is kind of a tacky color that is very cliche, but in some cases, a dark atmosphere is humerous. Color scheme reflects the atitude of the party itself. Black means the anti Valentine's party is for those who are bitter or sulking (or goth). Green is jealousy. Orange is a bright and fun color. Blues are moody. Spring pastels are a nice touch for a girly feel. One of the best decor themes is Girls' Night Out, a theme often reserved for bachelorette parties. Tiaras, flower leis, and mardi gras beads are fun favors.

Food: Food for an Anti Valentine's Day should be fun. Pizza, snacks, and other comfy foods are great Anti Valentine's Day treats. A great idea for your party is to encourage a pitch in of fun food.

Drinks: Punch is a great addition to an Anti Valentine's Day party. If you want something alcoholic, consider a vodka punch or margueritas.

Games: Name the Exes, when you are given the name of a popular Hollywood star and have to come up with their ex is a fun game. Other games that you may want to include are pop 'em (have the guest put on a single spike heel and pop inflated balloons with messages inside), guy scavenger hunt (go to a bar with a list of items you have to get from guy patrons), worst guy story (take turns telling date horror stories. The worst story wins a prize,) Independent Women (give each guest a name of an independent woman by taping it to her forehead without her reading it first. Have her ask questions of the other ladies to see if she can guess the name.) and of course the grossest ex contest (partygoers compare pictures and stories of their ugliest ex and vote on which guy was the worst.)

Music: Choose upbeat music for your Anti Valentine's party that show the independence of women. Songs that celebrate the talents and skills of women are best. Try to stay away from sappy love songs or songs belittling anyone.

Activities: My Gifts (Make each woman in the room say what her personal gifts/strengths are.), My Goals (Give each woman a chance to say what her goals are for the next year.), Karaoke, shoe or accessory trade, worst Christmas gift bonanza (eveyone brings in the worst gift they received that year and trades or tosses it.)

Have a fun Anti Valentine's Day!

Love the shoe/accessory trade idea! I might have to use that for my next Ladies Night.
