Anti-Aging Cream - Hoax or Miracle?

As we continue to look for the Fountain of Youth in a bottle or jar, we continue to spend our money on whatever the latest miracle appears to be at the time. We have all invested money and time into product after product that we are hoping will be the one we can stick with and the one that actually works. In my quest to keep the wrinkles and age at bay, I have tried various cheap and expensive so called "the one that does it the best", miracle anti-aging concoctions. Below are a few of those in comparison.

If you haven't seen the Hydroderm commercials, then if you want TV enough you will pass the infomercial. This I did for over a year. After buying everything over the counter, I said why not?

I went online and placed the order for the initial package. Gave them my credit card info and got the jar of Age-Defying Renewal Moisturizer and Original Age-Defying Wrinkle Serum. You apply morning and night to your entire face and neck, everyday. OK, I did this faithfully for about 30 days.

It appeared to give my face and neck more moisture but I really did not see much difference. I may be expecting too much. Maybe old is just old and there is not any fixing to it. However, it did make my face feel better and seemed to even out the color and texture some. My biggest complaint with this stuff is every month they hit your credit card for another package without notifying you first.

This product would be better sold in stores at a better price. It is a decent product that doesn't really deliver what it says, but it does improve some aspects of your skin.

The line of Olay Regenerist Products has a entire regiment you can buy and use. There is a 14 Day Skin Intervention system that involves two separate weeks of specified daily peeling, moisturizer, wrinkle serum and more. I have not tried the entire system yet, however, the Olay Regenerist Filling and Wrinkle Treatment is similar to the Hydroderm products I have used. I purchased this portion of the product. It did appear to do about the same as the Hydroderm. No real results and no miracle improvement. Better skin tone and better overall moisture level. Again, this was out of the normal regime of what the package deal advertises.

My next anti-aging product that is similar to the two above products is Nivea's Q10 Advanced Wrinkle Reducer. This has probably the best price of any of these products. It has basically the same ingredients as the others but is less expensive by far. Again, this product performs about the same as the other two. Moisture, less appearance(temporarily) of wrinkles, and more even tone of skin. Has a good feel when applied.

Of all of the products on the market today, I don't really think any of them can perform miracles with aging skin. They can fill in some, tighten some and moisturize a lot. Aging is inevitable. The addition of these many products has given us the impression that no matter your age or skin condition, if you just spend enough money, they can get you what you need. For the most part I believe the Anti-Aging Beauty Market is a Hoax.

Truth be told, you can improve your skin and your overall health by eating healthy, taking vitamins that improve the skin such as Vitamin E and others. Getting enough fresh air and sunshine also affects your skin. Too much sunshine is bad, but your body and your skin need some sunshine for the Vitamin A.

Eating healthy is probably of more benefit than any lotion or wonder creme you can apply. Plenty of fruits and vegetables, less fat and greasy stuff, more fiber and less processed foods. Eating healthy has always been the key to looking young. The products you find in the stores are helpful but are a long way from being a miracle for aging.
