It may be surprising to some people to find out that there are antioxidants in coffee and even though many people are unsure what antioxidants are they find themselves drinking a cup of hot Joe every morning.

Not only are they found in the coffee itself but they can even be found in the coffee aroma which wafts through house lurking its way down the hallways and feeling the nostrils of dream keepers. Antioxidants help support the immune system and there by lowers things like heart disease and cancer. However these effects are best gained when is less than twenty minutes old, so it's a good thing most people drink 2-3 cups in the morning before doing much else.

Antioxidants are very important to the body, the can even be helpful toward people who are at risk for diabetes. You can mostly find them in tea but you can also find them in vegetables such as tomatoes, grains and fruits.

Phytochemicals are the antioxidants in coffee and you can get up to 300 in your system which will stay in your immune system for at least a month.

Even though coffee has a lot of antioxidants in it, it can also cause some issues with cholesterol levels and makes people just a bit jittery. However, due to its affects on helping with things like cancer and heart disease it would be up to you if it was a risk or not to take. The antioxidants in coffee can help with liver cancer specifically. In a survey of people who drank coffee every day it showed that they had the risk of liver cancer than those who had never even drank a cup of coffee. Better effects were seen in those who drank up to four cups a day.

Surprisingly enough, the antioxidants in coffee are higher than that of chocolate, milk or even tea. The antioxidants in coffee have also been known to protect against Parkinson's disease and helps with free radicals which build-up in the body. Free radicals build up in the body and cause many problems such as severe damage which leads to a stroke and eventually heart disease.

So when you grab that cup of java in the morning keep in mind that you are doing more than just kick starting your morning you are protecting yourself against numerous of long term illnesses which is more valuable than anything else.
