If you know what certain antique dealers specialize in it can make your search for that rare collectible easier than you may think. There really is no better place to go antiquing than Boston and the greater Boston area. The Boston antique markets cater to the Revolutionary War, the Salem Witch Trials, and Civil War relics.

Devonia Antiques serves those interested in fine English porcelain and American and European stemware from 1880-1920. If you love antique lamps and lighting, a must see on your list of antique dealers is Light Power, located at 59 Wareham Street, Boston, MA, 02118. Small Pleasures has two locations to serve the needs of their clients. Their specialty is antique jewelry and watches, of which they have a marvelous display. They have a huge showroom. Though they mainly deal with furniture, the rare accessory can also be found if one searches enough. One should plan on spending quite a bit of time at Spivack's. Even if you are just going to browse, there is so much to see that it will take several hours to go through the entire shop.

A favorite of both Bostonians and tourists is located in Cambridge. The Cambridge Antique Market offers five floors of variety, imagination, and fun for any antiquarian. One must search and seek on each floor if they are in pursuit of that perfect antique. This place is a treasure trove for any antique collector, as well as those just wanting to decorate in a more traditional style. The market is located at 201 Msgr O' Brien Hwy., Cambridge, MA 02141. Cadia Vintage appeals to those that are want to search on a smaller scale to those that are in search of a variety of different period collectibles, vintage goods, and various antiques. Some may be interested in period pieces from the Salem Witch Trials. Salem is a short distance from Boston, and worth the trip to travel back in time. A few tips before you go antiquing include; never spend more than what you can afford, no matter how beautiful the piece. Also, take your time when browsing; a piece of history may be buried under something else. And, lastly, while antique shopping have fun. Let yourself imagine the era for which you are searching, role playing can even be nice in some instances. Relish the world as it was during the time of our forefathers.
