Antiquing in Florida

What My Book is About

Linda Stamberger
What I enjoyed most about writing this book, is the adventure it took me on. I traveled the entire state of Florida, in my dusty, 1991 Toyota Camry, praying it would not break down. I was on a quest, so I aside from fleeting moments of adrenaline, the excitement I had for discovering the "real Florida" led me on a wondrous journey of knowledge. The amazing state of Florida, aside from having good shopping and great antique districts, has such history, which seems almost mythical at times. This is due to reminders of the past, century's old St. Augustine, among others, flora and fauna, natural resources, tradition and spirituality combined. People love Florida for all these reasons, and I wanted to combine all these factors into my book.

Antiquing in Florida is a book that resembles a journal of travels, but with a historical slant; in regard to town description and Florida's wondrous history, all in condensed form. That is how all the listings start within each region, and then I write about individual stores, their antique and collectible merchandise, and distinct items pertaining to Florida's past, namely Highwaymen Art. I really enjoyed the process of writing as well, and the entire experience is one I will never forget.
