For more information you can contact the Maine Antique Dealer Directory. They will be able to supply you with an online directory of antique shops.
The first area I want to share with you starts in beautiful Bethel, Maine. Follow Route 2 to Mexico. Then follow Route 17 up the western side of the mountains to Oquossoc, then Route 16 east to Rangeley where you can enjoy many lakeside activities like boating, golfing and hiking. From Rangeley, follow Route 4 down the eastern side of the mountains to the shop lined streets of Farmington.
The next area is the Down East Region of Maine. The area boasts spectacular coves, inlets and beaches along the shores. You may catch glimpses of Eagles here. Begin in Ellsworth heading South on 172 through Surry, then South on 176 to Blue Hill where shops contain handcrafted pottery, textiles and furniture as well as antiques. From here, head South on 172 to Sedgewick, then West on 175 to Seargentville. From here, head South on 15 through the lovely communities of Little Deer Isle, Deer Isle and Stonington.
The last area I will show you is the Southern coast. This is by far my favorite trip. I love the coastal towns. Route 1 from the town of York (which is America's oldest city) through Ogunquit, Wells and Kennebunkport to Arundel has the largest concentration of antique shops in Maine. This trip is roughly thirty miles and in addition to the large amount of shops, the drive is beautiful through little villages. Once in Kennebunkport you can drive by Walker's Point which is the summer home to former President George Bush.
