As soon as my husband and I moved to our new house in East Moriches, we needed to find a new local pizzeria. We haven't been able to find good pizza ever since our last house. The local pizzeria in our old town kept going out of business or changing owners. They would always start our great, making the best pizza, but then somewhere down the line, the pizza would start tasting bad and the service not as good. I am going to write about my experience once I discovered Anton Pizzeria in Center Moriches, NY.

We tried one local pizzeria in our new town and the pizza was awful and the service was extremely unfriendly. We knew that wouldn't work. We then discovered Anton Pizzeria. It is located right across the street from our local McDonald's. Friends or ours who lived here longer than us said that they had excellent pizza and entrees, and the service couldn't be beat. So we tried it. Wow, our friends were right. The pizza was great. It was nice and fresh, and the sauce not too spicy. It had just the right amount of cheese, and the crust wasn't burnt. I think that we knew right away we had just discovered out new favorite local pizzeria.

The atmosphere of Anton Pizzeria is like stepping into a local pizzeria you would most likely find if you were visiting Italy. The owners and the workers seem to be mostly Italian and speak Italian to each other. They were so friendly to me. The décor reminds me of being in an old village in Italy (from what I have seen on television). They have a TV hanging from the ceiling usually playing some type of soccer game. It reminds mw of growing up in Howard Beach, not to be stereotypical. But it game me such a warm feeling inside, reminding me of home.

Whenever I bring my two year old son for a quick bite, the staff always helps me. I order my pizza and they bring it to the table for me. It is so hard when you are by yourself and a toddler. They help setup the highchair and cut my son's pizza into small pieces. I have been back so many times that I think they know my name. One time I went Saturday night and then again Sunday night. The owner says to me, "just to let you know, we are closed tomorrow." I had to laugh. They remembered I was there two nights in a row.

My husband and I have also done take out service from them. Unfortunately they don't deliver, so we have to pick it up. The portions are huge. I usually order a baked ziti dinner and there is enough there for my, my son, and one more person. We like to ask for extra bread and they never charge us for it. The bread they give you on the side is delicious. It is soft with a little white powder on the top. I can't get enough of that bread. They wrap in tight in tinfoil, they don't just throw it in the bag. It keeps it nice and warm, fresh like they just baked it.

The last part about this pizzeria is that in the front they have a full service dining area called La Volpe. My husband and I have yet to try this restaurant, but I am sure we wouldn't be disappointed. As soon as we do try it, I will write anther review sharing our dining experience. If you are looking for a new family friendly local pizzeria, Anton Pizzeria is the way to go. My husband and I have yet to be disappointed and we have been ordering from them now going on two years.
