Antonio Margarito Vs Manny Pacquiao Spin from Behind the Scene
Antonio Margarito Vs. Manny Pacquiao November 13th a Texas Match at Cowboys Stadium
Margarito has a very non-traditional sponsorship, that leaves him with nothing at all if he does not win the fight. The people of the punk rock clothing line at "Affliction" were willing to take this deal after Margarito offered it to them, according to the LA Times.
"Affliction" has already gotten massive free advertising from this deal, so it was a smart move on their part.
Sunday, Bob Arums, the promoter went to watch Pacquiao train for this fight and "rang the alarm bells," according to Business insight.
Arum claims that, ""The old (Manny Pacquiao) is too fast, too talented to get beaten by Margarito. But this (Manny Pacquiao) is not going to be enough," according to Business Insight.
Arum's is a fight promoter and by saying this about Pacquiao, it gives a little credibility to Margarito having a chance to win this fight. Pacquiano is the favorite to win this fight according to The Manila Standard Today.
The bad publicity around Margarito from last year's fight, where plaster was discovered under his gloves right before the Shane Mosley fight, according to Yahoo Sports. This has made this fight very controversial.
The fact that Margarito's boxing license was revoked in California and still is, did not detour Texas from issuing him a license to fight in their state. This is not the usual case. If one state revokes a license, the other states usually recognize this and honor it.
It might just be with all the under current going on and Margarito coming in as the underdog, Arum needs to put a spin on the fight, after all he is a promoter!
Giving Margarito the verbal chance of winning, may be enough to change the bad publicity into good, or at least put it in a better light. Arum may just be working behind the scenes to make this fight more about fighting and less about Margarito's fall out of grace.
Arum is quick to come back with the fact that things can change and Pacquio can pick his speed up if he continues training and vigorously, according to Business Insight.
The spin that is going on behind the scenes of this fight, just goes to show that nothing is a sure thing until the two step in the ring.
