Anxiety is the product of an incongruence. That is that beliefs or desires are at conflict with behavior or reality. Say I value family and I spent all my time at work I will have anxiety.

It can sometimes be difficult to detect the incongruence. Most often is is the result of behavior that is misaligned with the value system. That is the conflict between stated belief and true beliefs. Incongruent thoughts and behaviors make one feel like and impostors. No matter how well studied, thoughts or behaviors that are not congruent with a belief system will make one feel nervous. New ideas take time to assimilate into our consciousness. There is much study done with changing self talk and using positive affirmations. By simply stating one is a rich and prosperous will not make a person wealthy, it will result in making him a nervous or neurotic poor person.

When suffering from anxiety is it not always necessary to embark on years of analysis. What to do is to identify the mis-beliefs and replace then. This sounds simple but nothing is ever as simple as it sounds. For instance I had a friend who suffered from a painful medial condition with her bladder. She was in and out of the Mayo clinic. She did not get better despite being treated by some of the best doctors in the country. Another friend, who was and expert in Silva Mind convinced her to see a Peruvian Faith Healer. The faith healer dipped her is oils and she recovered. We may consciously think our faith is in doctors but find help with healers. This is why we need the return of the Shaman.

One can use affirmations and denials too change the subconscious mind to meet conscious thinking. In "Metaphysics 101" it is often stated: "that thoughts held in mind produce after their kind." The fact is no matter what is going on in the subconscious monologue that takes place just below the level of consciousness, one can change it by holding a conscious thought.. When combating anxiety it helps to become aware of conflicting belief systems and choose the one you gives power. Power helps to combat anxiety feelings of vulnerability. Most of us depend on feedback for stability. If the message of those around you is not congruent in form, function and message you may suffer anxiety. I always find that a physical representation helps assist change. Remove the things out of your closet that do not fit with your new identify and replace them with one that do. Clean up the expressions of you life and your anxiety will be reduced.

If your inner conflict does not change, observe those around you and make sure that you have not vicariously adopted the belief system of others. When changing values, surround yourself with those who share your new value system and the change will produce less anxiety. If the values we hold in our hearts and our minds do not match the checks we write with our thoughts and behaviors we are likely to suffer anxiety. When combating anxiety it helps to become aware of conflicting belief systems and choose the one you gives power. Power helps to combat anxiety feelings of vulnerability.

To sum it up, most of us depend on feedback for stability.If the message of those around you is not congruent in form, function and message you may suffer anxiety. The reason being if you change (which is hard work) then they have to change who they are in relationship to you.
