There will be others at various stages of their problem. Some may have made tremendous improvement and still show up to offer help and advice or a sympathetic ear.
Gain Support And Help From Others Like You
You'll find a bunch of people who know what you're going through. Initially, you may be concentrating on yourself, but in time, you may start to consider others and know what they're going through as well.
This helps you understand that you're not alone. Also, if you have blamed yourself for this, you may finally realize that you are completely blameless. Seeing others with similar troubles can reassure you of that.
This is a frustrating and agonizing problem. By joining an anxiety group, you no longer have to travel the road to recovery alone. It's best to have support of some kind, whether it's online or offline.
Being Motivated Is Important
Another great point about having support from others is the much-needed motivation it can provide. Sometimes, when the chips are down, it can be incredibly difficult to pick yourself up.
You may even decide not to bother, or tell yourself, "Oh, I'll try tomorrow". With support from a close network of fellow anxiety sufferers, they may just provide you with that little bit of a push you might need.
Depending on your situation, it can be hard to motivate yourself. This is understandable. The full meaning of support will truly be realized only after you start making progress and think back to the 'dark days'.
It's probably a good idea to also keep in touch with your support network after you make good progress. It's very easy to forget subtle things like this when you start feeling better. You never know when you might need them, or vice versa.
