Look at the little baby's feet,
Cradled in her father's hands,
Isn't the little baby sweet?
Until she starts to make demands.
Cradled in her father's hands,
Isn't the little baby sweet?
Until she starts to make demands.
She wants her freedom,
Wants it now,
Does not want to scrape and bow.
She wants an education,
Wants it when?
She wants it now!
Those feet were made for walking,
Legs for running fast,
Her brain was made for thinking,
Not for dwelling in the past.
Her heart was made for loving,
But with simple purity,
Not for being someone's plaything,
But to be loved equally.
She has great things to teach us,
And would share the things she learns,
But her words cannot yet reach us,
Until the lamp of freedom burns.

Hey, Mimpi, you found this. Well, yes, this disparity breaks my heart. It is everywhere still, but in some places we have more opportunity than others. I am not content with just having a little more freedom than someone else, however. I want all of us, everywhere to be free and equal.
This is so pertinent taking a recent incident here in account. Girl child is still despicable, is still a curse and the only freedom that they enjoy is the right to die. In a bizarre incident here, girl children were being fed to death in a temple!
