AP Top 25 College Football Rankings (Week 9): Oregon Ducks Remain No. 1

Missouri Tigers Surge to No. 7 from No. 18

The Associated Press has released its AP Top 25 college football rankings for Week 9, and the Oregon Ducks (7-0) remain No. 1 in the college football rankings. Oregon solidified its hold on the top spot after drubbing UCLA by a score of 60-13 on Thursday night.

Joining the Oregon Ducks in the Top 10 of the AP Top 25 are the Boise State Broncos, Auburn Tigers, TCU Horned Frogs, Michigan State Spartans, Alabama Crimson Tide, Missouri Tigers, Utah Utes, Wisconsin Badgers, and Ohio State Buckeyes.

Previously unbeaten Oklahoma drops eight places to No. 11 in the AP Top 25 college football rankings after its loss to Missouri. The Missouri Tigers (7-0), formerly No. 18, surge eleven places to No. 7. The LSU Tigers (7-1), also previously unbeaten, fell six places to No. 12 after losing to the Auburn Tigers. The Oklahoma State Cowboys (6-1), also undefeated until this week, dropped three places to No. 20 after losing to the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Nebraska, in turn, stays steady at No. 14.

The Texas Longhorns (4-3), No. 22 last week, dropped out of the AP Top 25 college football rankings after losing to Iowa State by a score of 28-21. Last week's No. 20 team, West Virginia, also fell from the AP Top 25 rankings after its loss to unranked Syracuse.

USC (5-2) and Baylor (6-2) enter the the AP Top 25 poll this week as a result of the losses by Texas and West Virginia. The USC Trojans, idle this week, reenter the Top 25 at No. 24. The Baylor Bears are No. 25 after defeating Kansas State by a score of 47-42.
