Compton Court Apartments located in the 400 Block of S. Richey in Pasadena, Texas went up in flames at about 5:45 p.m on Friday, April 11, 2008. The Massive Fire quickly tore through the complex, destroying approximately two of the complex buildings and at least 100 apartment units. Anyone driving in the vicinity could see clouds of dark smoke which took over the complex in a matter of minutes.

Some reports say that this was a 2-Alarm Fire while others are calling it a 3-Alarm Fire. No mattter what category it takes, this fire has left at least 100 tenants homeless for the moment. Local YMCA workers rushed kids to safety while Police and apartment staff worked hard to alert residents.

Residents escaped with their lives and not much more as the blaze continued to spread. There just was no time while isolated flames became inferno's in minutes.

Apartment Fires in the Pasadena area are not uncommon just do a google search for a more in depth look at Apartment Fires in Pasadena, Texas which has a lot to do with how old the buildings are in this area.
