I purchased the APC Smart UPS for $350 on the APC website. A friend recommended it for me when I encountered a power loss and lost a lot of my personal data. I wasn't sure how I was going to find something that was capable of keeping my servers going just in case my power wasn't working but I found this feature with APC Smart UPS.
The main reason why I really needed the APC Smart UPS was because I wanted to keep my points of sales protected. I run a business and I deal with a lot of transactions. I needed not only protection but power. The APC Smart UPS provides high real power output (watts), excellent runtime, wave output, LED visual display and smart battery management.
The APC Smart UPS comes with Powerchute management software which gives you the security that is needed when trying to run your servers correctly. The one thing I like about the APC Smart UPS is that you are given multiple slots that allow you to add optional accessories to augment the performance of your APC Smart UPS. The APC Smart UPS comes with 24-7 technical support which is something I look for when dealing with anything tech.
The APC Smart UPS gives higher application availability by adjusting low and high voltage without having to use the battery.It also maximizes your battery performance which is the reason why I purchased the APC Smart UPS. I was looking for something with the capability of doubling my battery life and that is exactly what the APC Smart UPS does.
Another feature that the APC Smart UPS has is that it protects your server from power disturbances. If you happen to have a storm or a power surge, then expect for the APC Smart UPS to over ride the disturbance. The APC Smart UPS also does periodic battery self-test which helps detect a corrupt battery. Also, if you happen to have an electric power out, the APC Smart UPS will give you temporary battery power.
The APC Smart UPS provides great protection for servers that need high security and intense protection. For $350, it is well worth the price.
