Aphorisms Day by Day

Deonils
Wednesday's Aphorism from Deonils (Neil Deo):

"Do you enjoy God? Real religion banishes fears and brings all manner of joys and comforts."

It came as a surprise to me that one can enjoy one's relationship with God because God is more real than one's spouse, friend, child or relative. While there are reasons one may be somewhat scared of God, yet acknowledging it is possible to enjoy, even revel, in one's relationship with the Creator-Parent is part of holistic spiritual development and perhaps another miracle.

Jesus did say in The Gospel According to John, Chapter 14, that when we Christians follow the Commandments, especially that of fully loving each other, we become His friends, not his slaves, followers or associates. Yes, much like Abraham was called the Friend of God in the Old Testament or Hebrew Bible. Amen

This is sooo beautiful and true. God has been there for me at times when there was no one else, not even my loving parents. He never leaves or forsakes us.

Apology from Deonils: I quoted the wrong Chapter of John. CORRECTION: John 14 ought to read John 15, where Jesus says if we love one another as he Commanded, we become His friends. Amen and Shalom
