Aphrodisiacs You May Want to Try to Increase Your Sex Drive

Nothing Wrong with Experimenting

Jeanne Marie Kerns
Aphrodisiacs are certain substances that are believed to increase ones sexual desires. Just the name itself is named after the Greek goddess of sensuality, Aphrodite. Although it has yet to be scientifically proven that aphrodisiacs do actually increase ones sexual desire, there is nothing wrong with trying them out yourself.

Alcohol

We all know that in small amounts, alcohol lowers ones inhibitions and most definitely increases confidence. With that said, once someone drinks small amounts of alcohol their sexual desire becomes much more stronger and showing it is not a problem at all. Now do not go overboard and think that the more you drink the more sexual desire you will have.

Bananas

Some think that the shape causes an increase in sexual desire, however studies have shown that the enzyme bromelain (Bromelain is a mixture of sulfur-containing protein-digesting enzymes-called proteolytic enzymes or proteases-and several other substances in smaller quantities) can enhance a males sexual performance. Bet the men who read this will be going to their local grocery store and picking up a few bundles of bananas today.

Chocolate

Now us chocolate lovers do know that this is one of the most sensuous foods known to mankind. The taste and the texture of a good piece of chocolate can go a long way. Chocolate contains both a sedative which helps relax a person and lower their inhibitions, as well as a stimulant that is known to increase activity and the need for physical contact. Chocolate also produces serotonin that makes the person feel "oh so good". The strong substances in chocolate even made some monasteries centuries ago to ban it from being used or eaten.

Oysters

Growing up just 15 miles from the Florida Keys this specific aphrodisiac was one that I had heard of all the time. I personally have eaten tons of oysters and have not had one sexual desire at all. I have however seen other people eat them and becoming increasingly sexual. It is said that since the oysters can change their sex from male to female that people who do eat them get to experience either the feminine or the masculinity side of increased sexual desire. Oysters are also very high in zinc, which raises sperm count as well as testosterone levels which combined will increase the libido.

Radishes

I know exactly what you are thinking, how can a radish increase sexual desire in anyone. You might be surprised to know that radishes were considered a divine aphrodisiac by Egyptian Pharoahs. Must be the roundness of the vegetable, the bright red color and the spicy taste that most definitely stimulate the palate.

Caviar

I personally would not care if caviar increased my sexual desire by 100%, I could not see myself eating this for any reason. Yes I have tried it, unfortunately I do not like eating spoonfuls of salt at anytime in my life. However for some, the levels of zinc that are secreted through caviar stimulates the formation of testosterone which allows the male to perform like no other.

Last but not least...

Asparagus

According to an English herbalist Nicholas Culpepper, asparagus "stirs up lust in man and woman". Reason being is that asparagus is high in potassium, fiber, B6, vitamin A, vitamin C, thiamin and folic acid. With all these vitamins all wrapped up into one asparagus spear, this is said to be histamine booster which is necessary when reaching an orgasm in male and female.

There has never been any scientific proof that states that any of these foods or drinks cause an increase in sexual desire in anyway. However many state that some of these foods and drinks have worked and will work if taken in moderation. I say it's worth a try, what harm can it really do!
