End of the World as We Know It

We are living in seemingly apocalyptic times. While it is true, the world did not end as was predicted, however, one day the Lord will return and time will be no more. This will be a joyous occasion for the followers of Jesus, not so joyous for those who have rejected the Son of God who bled and died for their sins. I do not know how it will happen only know one day it will. Here is a four-line poem about the end of this world as we know it.

Apocalypse

Red hue against the blue, sun fades behind hazy mountains, smoke rises

Birds scream, dogs howl, humans writhe in pain as day gives way to night

Earth moans, creation groans as the arduous final days are poured out from heaven

Dreams crushed, mouths hushed as mankind faces twilights last gleaming.
