Apocolyptien

For a Survivor of Childhood Sexual Abuse

Suzanne Bennett
I open my mind and spirit
In the morning dark and call you in.
I wish into you praying.

In your heart I see you
Clean and new and scared and cloaked
In smoke and armor.

My soul touches yours.
The need is scared and close.
I dream into you praying.

Cradling your heart in mine,
Rocking you to strength,
I pour into you praying.

Casting spells and breathing life,
Wash away your fear.
I speak into you praying.

"Inside out and outside gone.
Let yourself belong. Fear and sorrow fall away."
I shelter you with praying.

Love for you flies in the dawn,
Heart that's warm and giving,
I pray into your dreaming.

Hidden child beneath the stair
Hears the footsteps up and down,
Huddles close and praying.

"Go away! I don't need you!
I am enough afraid. Fear keep me here!
I can't be hurt. I don't need your praying."

Hiding and recovering,
Covering fear with face,
I see into you praying.

Falling armor, faded smoke, trappings of your
Disguise whisper off your faded shell.
I uncover you praying.

Open heart, open mind, open eyes and see!
Stretch your limbs and touch the sky!
I breathe into you praying.

Come out and play!
Come play with me!
I'm waiting for you praying.
