Apollo 14 Astronaut Edgar Mitchell Says UFOs Are Real

He Actually Said, "We Are Not Alone"

Saul Relative
Edgar Mitchell, one of the last astronauts to fly to the moon (Apollo 14), believes that we are not alone. In fact, he said just those exact words.

One of the most awe-inspiring thoughts a person might conceive is that of life existing on other planets. There is something transcendent in the thought that human beings are not alone on this whirling sphere on the galaxy's edge of an unimaginably vast universe. People have dreamt of alien life for centuries. Because deep down, we know that, whether there be a god that created the universe or not, there is without a doubt other life, even other intelligent life, in the universe. Or at least have hoped.

Edgar Mitchell says that he knows that we are not alone in the universe, that there is intelligent alien life, that the United States government knows it, has known it for decades, and has concealed the knowledge from the general public.

According to CNN, at the National Press Club on Monday, following the fifth annual X-Conference, a gathering of UFO activists and researchers. He said that mankind had wondered if it was "alone in the universe. But] only in our period do we really have evidence. No, we're not alone."

Edgar Mitchell is a child of UFOs and UFO lore. He grew up in Roswell, New Mexico, home of the famous "Roswell Incident," the site of a supposed 1947 UFO crash that was covered up by the government so as not to cause a public panic. Mitchell claimed Monday that 10 years ago, people who had witnessed the crash had trusted him with their secret. They trusted him because he was one of their own and because he had been to the moon. Sworn and threatened to secrecy by the U.S. government, the residents of Roswell had kept their secret for five decades.

Mitchell said that when he took the story to an unnamed admiral at the Pentagon, the admiral swore he would look into the matter. He was later told that the stories "were confirmed."

That same admiral will not admit to the story at all these days, says Mitchell.

NASA denies any government cover-up as well, stating that they do not track or investigate UFOs.

Edgar Mitchell told those at the conference: "I urge those who are doubtful: Read the books, read the lore, start to understand what has really been going on. Because there really is no doubt we are being visited."

The Paradigm Research Group (PRG) hosted the X-Conference. Head of PRG Stephen Bassett said, "There is a third rail [in American politics], and that is the UFO question. It is many magnitudes more radioactive than Social Security ever dreamed to be."

Unfortunately, without some kind of physical or empirical proof, Edgar Mitchell's assertions that the Roswell UFO crash was an actual extraterrestrial visit will simply be relegated to the same category as those of any other person that sees a UFO. Perhaps he might be given the benefit of the doubt as to credibility, since he was part of the Apollo 14 moon mission, but only marginally so.

People have been hearing the conspiracy theories for years. Project Blue Book. Black helicopters. The men in black. Area 54. The alien bodies on ice at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. There are many others. But there still exists no actual proof that has been seen outside of a chosen few. And it is in that selective few where the problem lies. Until the world is confronted by or presented with established proof, the idea that extraterrestrial life remains in the realm of dreams, what if, the speculative, and science fiction.

But Edgar Mitchell is not alone among astronauts that have admitted to seeing UFOs. Buzz Aldrin admitted in a Science Channel interview in 2005 to seeing a ringed object keeping pace with the Apollo 11 flight. There is supposed to exist film of this object, taken by Aldrin himself, which was confiscated by the CIA.

Astronaut Gordon Cooper told a United Nations panel in 1985 that he had witnessed UFOs personally. Cooper was one of the original 7 Mercury astronauts. He said he hoped that the U.N. would pursue their study of UFOs and extraterrestrials in a responsible manner, so more professional people who have actually seen UFOs and have knowledge of other-worldly life would feel safe to come forward.

But, in the end, although these men and several other astronauts have come forward to tell tales of UFOs, there still exists no tangible and/or verifiable empirical proof.

Alone or not, all we have are the words of men. And with something as momentous as contact with extraterrestrials (or at least their mechanical emissaries), whether it be visual or physical, there needs to be more than just the words of men...

I'm sure that the proof of UFOs is out there but, the government is always so quick to cover it up that it never comes out.

Because your pea brain cannot comprehend something does not make the same thing irrelevant or non-existent. You need to enlighten yourself to possibilities and stop acting like the overgrown child that you really are. If facing the facts of life is too great a task for you then so be it.

Fascinating stuff! This is a well written and interesting article.

Why would we not be the only life form? Interesting. Thanks.

Evin is obviously a skeptic. I find the astronauts among the most credible sources because they are out there is space, they are familiar with aircraft, they are in a position to recognize something not of this Earth.

    Has been drug tested recently?

Nice job Saul. I too would find it nearly impossible that we are it for life in the vastness of the universe.
