Appalachian Ski Mountain's New Year's Eve Extravaganza in Blowing Rock, NC

How about taking a trip to do some midnight skiing on the beautiful slopes of Appalachian Ski Mountain in Blowing Rock, NC?

The Appalachian Ski Mountain Resort, located just off of Highway 321 in Blowing Rock, NC, contains myriads of slopes and terrains to accommodate any type of skier or snowboarder wishing to have an exciting time. There is a simple yet fun bunny slope for the beginner and a tough, steep slope for those with advanced skills looking to be challenged; and, for those of us in between, there are plenty of intermediate slopes that will surely whet your appetite for snow filled fun. Terrain parks are also accessible for those daring enough to truly put their skills to the test! If skiing or snowboarding isn't your thing, you can also try out the wonderful skating arena located at the very front of the lodge area.

On Thursday, December 31, Appalachian Ski Mountain will host its New Year's Eve party called the New Year's Eve Extravaganza. This night of skiing/snowboarding/ice skating, beginning at 6 pm, will prove to be a wonderful time of enjoyment and good fellowship. Whether you are with family or with a group of friends, this event is one to be relived among many good events. The event will include beautiful torchlight skiing and snowboarding, moonlit ice skating from 10 pm until midnight, and a fireworks show to be presented as the new year dawns. Breakfast will also be served in the lodge area from 9pm until midnight in order to facilitate the overall feeling and mood of the event.

Also, this event will be facilitated by the 46,000 sq. ft. lodging area overlooking the slopes. A 200 foot deck lines the front of the building to allow spectating and resting for skiers. The bottom floor of the two-story building contains the Alpine Ski Shop, which carries high quality equipment for sale and rent. The upper floor contains the Appalachian Gift Shop and a high quality dining area. Wireless internet, games, dressing rooms and clothes dryers are just a few of the amenities offered in this facility. Special lodging packages are available for those needing to stay overnight.
