Here are two ways to get the benefits of ACV and also make it go down less unpleasantly. First, use a teaspoon or two of honey. Second, you may substitute organic molasses for honey, to sweeten your ACV health beverage.
The rest of this short piece will give you details of how and when to drink this concoction for health benefits.
How:
I usually boil a cup of water and then add a teaspoon of ACV in the hot water. If it is a weekend or day on which I will not be leaving home, I may double the dose.
To sweeten your ACV, use honey or molasses, but about the same ratio or at best, twice the ratio, of the ACV itself.
Why:
Unless one is diabetic or otherwise under doctor's care and medications, anyone may benefit from cleaning their stomachs and intestines from accumulated sludge and lazy bowels. ACV will also allow the useful flora in the guts to thrive. You will feel lighter and brighter ... or your stomach and abdomen will.
One of my family members, and until her death my mom too, used ACV to get the residues of chemotherapy out of her system. In that sense ACV is a safe detox vehicle (Except if you are on prescription medications for other health issues).
When:
Some people swear by taking ACV as a hot beverage first thing in the morning. For those with sensitive stomachs, I would suggest having a piece of dry toast five to ten minutes before. If someone has irregular bowel movements, or even if one has mild insomnia, ACV can help you when you take it at night. (Don't forget to brush your teeth afterwards, LOL. You partner may not enjoy the "unfresh" aroma of ACV).
However, my personal preference is for having ACV in mild doses in the mornings and nights. Sometimes, I will use it in my salads too. This option is again great for anyone who wants to reduce acidic contents and effects for their personal health condition.
Caveat Emptor
This article is based on my personal experiences and studies, and is not meant to substitute for your medical practitioner. However, both honey and ACV are beneficial to the digestive, immune and nerve systems. Diabetics may wish to research if agave nectar or organic honies may be less damaging to their health condition if ACV cannot be taken minus sweetening. Bon Appetit ... and years of health to you and yours.
