There are many benefits to drinking apple cider vinegar: it promotes weight loss, helps control diabetes, is a natural skin cleanser, and can help with hair and scalp problems. When ingesting cider vinegar, you should be careful not to drink too much, or side effects may develop.
Joints
Apple Cider Vinegar is a natural product that helps relieve ailments within the body. One of these ailments is arthritis. Apple Cider Vinegar contains Malic acid, which helps fight bacterial infections. It also dissolves deposits of uric acid. Uric acid can form around joints--for example, in the knees--and cause pain. Drinking apple cider vinegar dissolves the acid, resulting in less pain, or no pain, in the joints.
Weight Loss
Another health benefit of apple cider vinegar is weight loss. It promotes weight loss in a number of ways. One way is detoxifying the liver. When the liver is clean and detoxed, it can lead to weight loss by functioning better to remove toxins within the body. Apple cider vinegar also boosts metabolism, which helps with appetite suppression. More energy means more calories burned. Many people retain water, and this often causes weight gain. Apple cider vinegar can reduce water retention. Drinking two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water before meals begins the promotion of weight loss.
Diabetes
Apple cider vinegar is a natural way to control diabetes. Cider vinegar works by controlling glucose levels. When glucose levels are normal, this keeps sugar levels from spiking or becoming low, which helps diabetics keep better control. Apple cider vinegar also helps with the other ailments that come along with diabetes, such as strengthening the arteries. Many diabetics who develop wounds have a hard time healing. Cider vinegar allows the body to heal faster from these wounds.
Skin
Apple cider vinegar can also be used to treat skin problems such as blemishes and acne. Cider vinegar is high in alpha-hydroxy acids. When you clean your face with apple cider vinegar, fatty deposits that remain on the skin are removed. The vinegar cleans deep, removing oils and bacteria that cause pimples. Blemishes can also be treated with cider vinegar. Patting it on blemishes at night helps reduce them within a few days. The skin is left feeling softer and smoother. But be careful when using this product on the skin; excessive use can cause burns and possible scarring.
Hair
Daily washing of the hair can cause a build-up of hair products, making the hair look weighed down, dull, and at times oily. After the hair is washed, apple cider vinegar can be applied to wet hair and combed through, then rinsed. The vinegar removes the build-up that was left on the hair and helps control the scalp's pH levels. Leaving cider vinegar in the hair while bathing will also help combat dandruff.
