The iMac has always been a great and powerful PC, but more recently they have come up with some of the slimmest designs imaginable, while still integrating the performance features you have come to expect from any computer in today's market.

I'm a gamer and I don't think I could live without games, fortunately the iMac is gaining more exposure to the gamers market, and correcting the one big issue that kept them out of the average consumers household in the past.

The iMac is capable of playing some state of the art games which have been ported over to the Mac OS. Many of these games play exceptionally well, and though the variety still hasn't matched that of the PC, it's becoming a reasonable platform for gaming.

Flash and java games are not OS specific which those of you who really enjoy online gaming will be glad to hear, though anything running specifically on the DX library will unfortunately have to be ported over by the developers.

You also have the option of running both OS simultaneously side by side getting the best of both worlds Suns Mac OS, and Microsoft Windows.

From the i3 to the i5 processor the system jumps to a quad core unit comparable to any PC. When you consider the 4Gb of ram on every unit sold and the minimum of 256 megs dedicated GPU memory and combine that with an 8x dual layer DVD-burner what you get is a monster of a computer in a slim unit no bigger then the average LCD TV.

Apple iMac Summer 2010 Review: Mac VS PC

I know you have all seen those advertisements on TV where PC brags of inventing Windows, and I'm sure some of you may even buy into that, but the fact is Microsoft developed Windows, and do you know where the idea for a GUI came from?

The first GUI based operating system was for the Mac, Bill Gates seeing the potential of this kind of system designed Windows to be a point and click based system based off of the Mac. Well in terms of marketability I guess you could say that Microsoft and Intel won that battle in the end, but the Mac is back with a vengeance.

Apple has been pouring money into marketing their new Macs as the leading competitor to the PC and this marketing has proven reasonably effective in getting the word out that Mac is back. The fact is that today you can even have Microsoft office on your Mac and even run windows itself on your Mac making the possibilities for gaming or anything else you would like to do endless.

The merger of IBM and Apple goes way back to the first iMacs of which many had windows 98 running side by side with the Mac OS by Sun. All in all I think that these iMacs look great have plenty of features and are comparable in power to that of even the most recent PCs.

All in all I give the iMac a 5 out of 5 in, features, design, gaming, and specifications. The Apple iMac is now a leading competitor in the computer industry, and I think I'm going to go out and buy the Quad core right now see you all later. Well I would if I could afford to drop a grand right now that is.
