Apple has updated their webstore with new content this Tuesday. The manufacturer from Cupertino, California, added a few new iMacs to its store, systems which look great and have great performance. But do we really want to pay these high amounts of money?

The iMac didn't only get a new look, also the inside of this brilliant all in one was updated. Apple has also made the screens of the iMacs larger and more economical. The top model has a display with led backlights and a size of 27 inches. It supports a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels. The choice can be made to equip the model with this screen with a Core 2 Duo processor or a CPU from the Lynnfield range. If you choose for the first option, the processor will be combined with a Radeon HD 4670 graphics card with 256MB memory, but if you choose a quad core. You can also combine it with an HD 4850 with 512 MB memory.

The 27-inch iMac is probably going to get the Core 2 Duo E8435 with a speed of 3,06GHz, but there is also the option to choose for a Core i5 750 with a speed of 2.66GHz or a Core i7 860 that is running with a speed of 2.8GHz. It depends on the choice you make when choosing the right CPU, but the iMac can be equipped with 4GB of DDR2 memory or DDR3 memory. It doesn't matter which of the two you get, but both of the types are expandable to 16GB. The 21.5-inch model will only be manufactured with a Core 2 Duo processor and it's an option to add a Nvdia GeForce 9400 ipg graphics card to your system or an ATI Radeon HD 4670. The iMacs come with sata hard drives of 500GB or 1TB and you get the option to add a second one with a maximum of 2TB. Of course, the systems also get a built in optical drive: the superdrive will support all normal formats except blu-ray.

The most striking thing about the new design of the iMacs, is the display. Not only that the 24-inch screen has been replaced with a 27-inch one, but also the silver border around the screen has completely disappeared. The 21.5-inch iMac will be for sale in Europe starting with a price of 1100 Euros and the 27-inch version for 1500 Euros. The 27-inch iMac with the Core i5 will get a price of 1800 and the Core i7 will cost almost 2000 Euros! These are no cheap systems!
