On Tuesday October 23, 2007, we decided to reward our 5-year-old twins for doing such a good job getting their flu shots. We told them they could choose anywhere to eat dinner. Normally you would think a 5 year old would pick McDonald's, Chucky Cheese or something, but the choice was unanimous, and the winner was Applebee's.

Heading over to Applebee's I was thinking about the time, and I was so glad that it was only 4:30pm and it was not time for the dinner rush just yet. I knew that the more people, the more the stress. Let face it folks, taking 2 year old twins and 5 year old twins to a restaurant is an adventure and very stressful.

Arriving at Applebee's we were greeted at the door by two lovely hostesses and they both had smiles on their faces. I was right, we were in luck, the dinner rush had not yet begun. They got our table of six together in a corner. A great move by our hostess at Applebee's that evening.

TIP: For all you hostesses out their, the corner table is the best place to put a large family with a lot of young kids. I can not stand it when someone puts us in the middle of the room and all the tables around us are taken as well, then you look around the room and see that you could've been a little excluded from the other costumers, over there in the corner. And then you have to worry about the children making too much noise and ruining everyone else's dinner.

Our waitress, Nikki M, came over and greeted us and took our drink order. She was very nice and smiled a lot. We only waited a couple of minutes before she came out with all six of our drinks. Shortly after, we ordered our food. My husband and I both ordered the Appetizer Sampler and we chose to split with the kids as every one likes the food in the samplers. Two Appetizer samplers, sounds easy enough, right? Wrong, not with our family. We are so picky. My appetizer sampler I wanted no bacon on my Cheese Quesadilla, instead of Buffalo Boneless Wings my son wanted BBQ Boneless Wings and instead of the Spinach-Artichoke Dip I changed to Cheese Con Queso Dip. I don't even want to go into my husbands order. Poor Nikki, what a trooper.

As we were waiting for the food to arrive at our table. My son, two years old, dropped his chocolate milk on the floor. Now this wouldn't of been that bad except when the milk fell the lid came crashing off it as well. Yep, you guessed it, chocolate milk all over the carpet. As I bent down to clean it up, I looked up to see Nikki coming over with napkins and plates. She put the plates down and helped me clean up the mess. She told me that she would get it, but as his mom I felt obligated to do something. She went and got more napkins and the mess was soon resolved.

Our food arrived and everything was perfect. The only problem we had was not having enough rolled silverware at the table. But that was an easy fix. Nikki checked on us several times throughout the meal and kept our drinks full.

After paying the bill we started to rush out to the car due to the kids getting a little anxious. We were getting everyone strapped in the car and here came an employee and handed me a sweatshirt that we had forgot and my debit card I so carelessly left on the table.

Thanks to Applebee's for a great dinner experience and thanks to your honest and very gracious employees.
