Applebees Half-Price Appetizers Review

JR Smith
Applebee's is a great restaurant for both friends and family. They pride themselves on their food quality and their atmosphere especially. They've created many dishes for all to enjoy and have recently been promoting personal videos to be submitted to the company with which they've gone and made commercials of their costumers in action. In addition, some of the best appetizers in the business are served at this particular establishment. If you come in after nine p.m. or between three and five p.m. any day, you'll get these great appetizers at half price. This is quiet a deal as many of them are almost a meal in themselves and in fact you will see many who go in to eat them exclusively as just that.

To start with they have many of the standard before dinner snacking. Mozzarella sticks, nachos, and Buffalo wings make an appearance in all there greasy, fried goodness. The wings, while not the restaurant's specialty, are a delight particularly with spicy hot sauce. The mozzarella sticks also standout simply in the bulk they are delivered in. These things are massive and easily can fill you up if you where the only one to be eating them. For the price these standard offerings are quiet good.

The Quesadilla that is offered is huge. While being the highest priced item on the appetizer menu, its girth will cause most individuals to ask for a to go box and is another one that can be viewed as a meal on its own. It is made with a ten inch tortilla shell, the meat of your choosing, and the general smathering of quesadilla ingredients.

The newest item added to the menu has been the mini-hamburgers or Sliders. In a way, they are like White Castle in that you get several small burgers to consume. It comes in a couple of varieties as well including a bacon and non-bacon version. And for the grease lovers out there, onion rings can easily fill the void. If you'd like a hint of health added, an artichoke dip is also provided. Overall, the Applbees half-priced appetizers are a great value, are very filling and come highly recommended by me.

This is the second time I have taken a group there in Mesa between 3 & 6 p.m. We got the same answer as the first time. The local has no control over what is offered. The first time we ate there anyway--throwing our money away for something we did not want. This time we just left and will not return unless they give better choices for half priced appetizers. It is your choice, do it right or not at all.

I don't like it when a promotion is run but it is only applicable to certain items. There are several appetizers that are not included in the half price special. Either run the promotion or don't, but it is misleading to advertise "half price appetizers" only to tell customers what they order is excluded. Bad business and in this economy, can you really afford to irritate your customer base?
