Appreciating Breath

My Gratitude for Life

Casey
Words free themselves from my fingers

Falling on the screen like teardrops

My heart so closed, I feel nothing

Then for a moment I feel everything

Overwhelming rapid thoughts

So blessed, with a wonderful man

Remarkable but excellent pets

Dogs that would give their lives for me

A man that would give up the world

I am blessed in those ways

But above all I am so very blessed to be alive

To be able to enjoy these times

Even though it's rough and I have trials to endure

But it is good because it means I made it out

Many of the women in my predicament don't

At least not alive or with out being mentally damaged

Once you find that one thing you remember

One good memory, tender and loving

You begin to think I could have that again

Or I could stay to "help him" and end up in the obituaries

Slowly you see more that you didn't even think of before

A guy giving a tender touch on his lovers face pains you with longing

Soon that is all you think about; love without bruises

A life with unconditional love and unrestricted existence of spirit and soul alike
