April 22: Births and Deaths

Celebrating Life and Honoring the Memory of Those Who Have Passed

Glenn Vallach
Birthdays are a wonderful daily occurrence in our lives. It is rare to weave through one's day without becoming privy to an announcement or celebration of a birthday or two, whether they belong to family, friends, or other eminent figures. Remembering those who have passed each day is, perhaps, just as noteworthy an endeavor, for if their memories are kept alive, one might argue, so too are their spirits.

Here is a sampling of April 22 honorees:

Glen Campbell - "Rhinestone Cowboy," "Wichita Lineman," "By the Time I Get to Phoenix," and "Gentle on my Mind," were only a few of huge hits attributed to the legendary Glen Campbell who turns 73 today. Born in Delight Arkansas, Campbell has enjoyed a career that has spanned five decades.

Daniel Paul Johns - The Australian vocalist, composer, guitarist, and pianist turns 30 today. He is best known as the key figure in the rock band Silverchair. Rolling Stone Magazine ranked Johns at number 18 on their list of the 25 most underrated guitarists two years ago.
