April 7 - No Housework Day - Celebrate This Special Day

Hear Ye?

JUNEANN REED
April means that spring is coming - for most of us, anyway, and April 7, known as "no housework day" may be the time you needed in your life.

Do you want to go for a walk, clean up the yard, go out with a friend, spend more time with your kids or someone special in your life? Take heed! Eat out, get take out, leave the broom and mop in the closet and give the vacuum a respite. Write in April 7 as no housework day whenever you fill out your calendar for the next year.

Maybe you're one of those who will make a list of house cleaning "should dos" when this day is past. Not me. I will invite my friend to lunch, take a walk, wear a bright and happy outfit and make this a great day for myself.

Half of the fun is seeing everyone else question how happy and bouncy you are today. What's up, they wonder as I walk into work with a spring in my step. I have a bright yellow t-shirt and yellow shoes. My jewelry makes my outfit pop and I feel so good.

All this is about "no housework day" they question me. Yep, that's what it's all about and I'm hoping you'll join me to celebrate this day of letting my hair down, so to speak.

I'd stuck a couple of little fun toys in my bag and was even brave enough to place one on the desk of my boss. Believe it or not, soon a little airplane came flying out of his office.

Life is short. Don't keep yourself chained to things that aren't truly important. Often it takes some trauma in our lives to understand just what that means. April 7, once again that is the day to kiss your house good-bye as you go out the door. Yes, you'll clean another day, but it's likely you'll get it done quickly and you'll be much happier after a day of yellow t-shirts and a spring in your step.

Instead of smelling the roses, smell the crab-apples and maybe you'll enjoy paying forward so someone else can tell of their fun surprise. Every time I pay or receive something forward, my day seems very special, indeed.

Again, April 7 - a day for no housework - whoever you are.

I want a clean home and do appreciate a day off from cleaning it. The dirt will not go away. It will be there everyday. The cycle does not change.

This is the best thing I've heard in a long time!
