April Fools

Tina Chumbley
Ten years ago today we laid you in your grave

Sometimes it seems like yesterday.

You would have died a smokers death,

You decided to end it yourself, rather than fight for your last breath.

You were such a strong, Brave man,

Why you would choose the coward's way was hard to understand.

I love you now just as much as I loved you then,

Even if the way you died is a sin.

I went to your grave today,

Just like I did 10 years ago on a fine spring day.

My life has changed a lot since that day when I felt so blue,

I now have two kids and I tell them about you.

I can once again enjoy the spring,

I forgive you Daddy, for everything.

But I will always Hate April Fools
