April Fools Day !!

Saul Relative
Hope your shoes are tied !!

Don't you hate that joke? You know, the childishly suggestive, "Your shoe is untied." Which usually makes you look. Even though you've been wearing penny loafers or cowboy boots or slip-on flats for years...

Seriously, though, today is a day of normalcy for some people. For instance, today is the only day that president George W. Bush feels acknowledged for all that he has done... People, pundits, editors, newspeople, heads of state, soldiers, etc., will tell him today that he's doing or has done a wonderful job as president.

What he does not seem to understand is that everyone thinks he's a fool the other 364 days a year as well...

I thought of you today! I went to the court house and reached in the cup for a pen and it WOULD NOT COME OUT! They super glued pens to the cup for yesterday and forgot to take it off the counter today. I was amuzed and more amuzed knowing you wouldn't be. Now that is sick in a weird way! But maybe that is why we get along at the reunions :)))

Yeah, Jill, if they ever get around to giving every president their own day, April 1 is definitely taken by Dubya...

My pleasure, Doc. Hope the rest of your day went better.

My five-year-old grandaughter pulled the "shoes are untied" on me several times yesterday, even though I was clomping around in my snow boots! She thought it was hilarious every time, too. It's nice that Bush has his own holiday....

Funny! My April Fool's Day was pretty dry until now. Thanks for the laugh!

Thank you so much, robritt. Can I use your comment and e-mail it to my parents and the in-laws?

Lower form of humor than puns. At least puns show some mental dexterity. And slapstick ain't quite my thing, either.
