April Fools Day Pranks 2010: Google Now Topeka, the Room, FarmVille, and More

It's April Fools Day 2010, which means a whole slew of new April Fools Day pranks will be hitting the web, with many already floating around out there. So just beware as you browse the web, as Google, Perez Hilton, and other sites have already tried to pull some of the most buzzed about April Fools Day pranks of 2010. So what have been some of the biggest April Fools Day pranks of 2010 thus far? From Google changing its name to Topeka to Sarah Jessica Parker and a Farmville prank, here's a look at what we've been punk'd by so far:

The Google April Fools Day pranks - In honor of the city of Topeka, Kansas, Google wants us to know that we're not in Google anymore, as the search engine has now temporarily changed its name to "Topeka". It's not the funniest April Fools Day prank of 2010, but definitely one of the most noticeable, and I'm sure the town of Topeka must feel quite flattered. One of the funnier Google April Fools Day pranks of 2010 thus far is pretty clever: the announcement of a special app called "Translate for Animals" that purportedly makes it possible for you to ask your cat how he feels about his photo on icanhascheezburger.com. (You know there will be the people out there that actually fall for this.)

Celebrity Deaths - Celebrity deaths are fairly obvious April Fools Day pranks, and it looks like the death of Chuck Norris was a popular search item the other night (don't worry; I'm pretty sure Chuck Norris is immortal from the things I hear about the guy). The death of Sarah Jessica Parker is one of the April Fools Day pranks in poor taste, as knockoff site PerezHiltonOnline.com reported yesterday that the actress has been killed in an automobile accident. Again, it's just a macabre prank, and I wouldn't be surprised to see more throughout the day.

Farmville - In one of the more lighthearted April Fools Day pranks of 2010, FarmVille is giving every farmer a roll of toilet paper for a little TP fun. Sure Charmin redecorating has been done thousands of times before, but FarmVille makes it a lot easier to get the job done (you won't throw out your arm), and a lot easier to clean up.

'The Room' Movie - Anyone watching Adult Swim the other night might have noticed its big April Fools Day prank, a horrible movie called 'The Room'. The network has pulled this one on us before, drawing us in and forcing us to watch one of the worst movies of all time (you'll feel a little dumber after watching just five minutes of it, trust me). And one of the big highlights of 'The Room' movie airing on Adult Swim is how much of a black screen we get to see.

So, in short, there have really been no great April Fools Day pranks of 2010 so far, but I've got an idea for a big one: Sandra Bullock should announce that she's taking Jesse James back. It would be one of the most epic April Fools Day pranks ever, and would really break the ice between a reclusive Sandra Bullock and the press. But this does bring me to another point about April Fools Day pranks: just beware while browsing the web today and don't believe everything you see; for all you know, this whole article could be an April Fools Day prank about April Fools Day pranks.
