April Fools Day is a day to play practical jokes, hoaxes, and pranks on friends family and other folks you might come in contact with on April 1. And regular everyday people are not the only one's who take part in the April Fool's Day pranks. Everyone from the guy or girl next-door to big business get in on the April Fool's Day Jokes. Here are Five memorable pranks played on the public and public officials.

U2 Plays Live Concert On Rooftop in Cork - In 2009 rumors spread rapidly that U2 was playing a surprise rooftop concert live for all their local fans. Fans rushed to the shopping center in Blackpool in Cork because they thought the band would truly be playing a live concert on a rooftop at the shopping center. Later, they learned that the live U2 concert was an April Fool's Day prank started by Cork radio station Red FM. The fans were greeted by a tribute band called U2opia.

Going Heavy Metal - In 20009 A North Carolina (WIXE) Radio Station Host Bob Rogers announced to his listeners that the Gospel and Country radio station was going heavy metal. The April Fool's Day Joke was on him cause the radio station started receiving dozens of calls for heavy metal songs.

Switched - In 1997 Alex Trebec and Pat Sajak switched game shows. Sajak hosted Jeopardy and Trebec hosted Wheel of Fortune where Sajak and Vanna White played contestants. This April Fool's Day Joke was a harmless prank but did rattle a few regular watchers and amused others.

Whopper Tale. It was reported that back in 1998 Burger King announced in USA Today that they now were making a burger for left-handed people whose condiments were designed to be easily dipped from the right side. Reports surfaced that people thought the April Fool's prank was true and flocked to Burger King to order the newly designed burger while others requested the old burger specifically.

Taco Rings A Bell - In 1996 Taco Played a April Fool's Day prank on the public when they placed a full page ad in the New York Times stating they had purchased The Liberty Bell in order to help reduce the country's debt. And that the Liberty Bell would be renamed the Taco Liberty Bell. White House Secretary Mike McCurry's response to this outlandish ad was that the Lincoln Memorial had been sold also and would be renamed Lincoln Mercury Memorial.
