Even though you already probably know about April Fools Day, I find the need to mention it. It is an important holiday and deserves to be recognized as such. Pranks are expected this day. Put shaving cream on a friend's face while they sleep, put pickle juice in their lemonade, or put fake spiders in their hair.
April 2nd commemorates a great color, celebrating Green Day. Throw a green party where everyone needs to wear green and serve green food. Just make sure you aren't confusing green with moldy.
American Circus Day falls on April 3rd. Throw your own circus. Set up a tent in your backyard, dress as a clown, and pretend you know how to juggle. This is a great day for children and adults alike.
Find a Rainbow Day on April 4th will have you looking up all day. If it's not a good day for a rainbow hunt have children draw rainbows and hang them all over the place.
Jump Over things day April 5th is a great and fun excuse to get some exercise. Hop everywhere you go, making sure to jump over everything and anything in your path.
The 7th is a day that seems to be recognized yearly by most men and teenagers, but for most women this is a day of great rejoicing. No Housework Day. Let your child ignore, just for this one day, their household responsibilities. Throw the rubber gloves out and get a manicure instead.
National Siblings Day and Golfers Day both coincide on the 10th of April. For Golfer's Day you can bring your children to mini golf or go play a round with your friends. For Siblings Day do an act of kindness for your brother or sister. Call them and let them know you care, write them a poem, scribble them a painting.
The 12th of April is Look Up at the Sky Day. For a party you can have everyone bring blankets and go to a park. Lie on your back and look at the clouds and find shapes. I always like to find dragons. Bring a picnic basket filled with goodies and celebrate your findings.
April 13th brings Blame Someone Else Day. This doesn't have to mean placing the blame for something bad. Do something good and give someone else credit for it.
If these holidays have not been exciting enough for you, then April 15th should be. It is Rubber Eraser Day. Throw a crazy eraser party.
The end of the months is packed full of some truly respectable holidays. The 18th is Animal Cracker Day. Buy some animal crackers and eat the heads off first. For the truly adventurous try baking your own.
The 19th of April is Garlic Day. It can get smelly, but also delicious. Cook food loaded with garlic, such as pizza, bread, or pasta. Sorry, I don't have any recommendations for a garlic dessert.
The 22nd brings National Jellybean Day. There are many crafts that can be done with jellybeans. Take children and a jar of jellybeans, and some straw. Have them make mock bird's nests. Or, of course, you could just spend all day eating jellybeans. I like the red ones.
National Picnic Day is the 23rd of April. Throw an outdoor party. Have children bring all their stuffed animals and have a teddy bear picnic.
The 24th is Puppetry Day. Go to a marionette theater or make sock puppets. Have children put on a show with their newly made puppets.
The 26th of April is National Pretzel Day. Have a party and serve pretzels. Have the kids, and adults, play twister and make human pretzels.
April 27th is Tell a Story Day. Pick a story and have children come to a party dressed as characters. They can then tell the story their way by acting it out.
Costume Day falls on April 28th. It can be like Halloween, but without the trick or treating. Have everyone dress in a costume. For added fun, make everyone design and create their own costume.
With all these holidays in April there is no need for there ever to be boredom. Pick a day and find a creative way to celebrate.

Post a Commentvery nice article.
Nice work! :)
wow there are holidays for everything. :-) I will probably just be my usual strange self all month.
When my children were small, I read to them a lot. My son could recite the stories back to me with me only reading the first few words of each line! His favorite was "The Rescurers". On short or long trips by car, we'd make up stories to help pass the time. If I saw a squirrel walking across a wire, or a car with a missing taillight, or even a clump of trees, I'd start a story. Sometimes the children would throw a line into the story and we'd feed off each others' lines. Wow! Thanks for rekindling those memories!
fun!!!
Thanks for introducing me to some of these fun holidays! BTW: I think I've met a few people who are celebrating April 13th - Blame Someone Else Day every day! :)
