April in Ireland

Dr. Peter J. Shield Ph.D. ARP
'Tis April now in Ireland
And the hedge along the way
Glistens with the early due
At the breaking of the day

The daffodil now fading
Has heralded the spring
As nature unfurls her canvas
And the birds around us sing

On the banks along the Shannon
The primrose clusters grow
Whilst baby lambs afrolic
Dashing ever too and fro

'Tis April no in Ireland
And though rain clouds oft appear
The sun is never far behind
And the Rainbow ever near

So cherish each sweet raindrop
And ponder not your fate
For its at the end of April Showers
That the Pot of Gold awaits
