Aquafresh Extreme Clean Toothpaste: Product Review

Is This Aquafresh Product Really Different from Other Toothpastes?

Robert Borden
I've never been very particular about which brand of toothpaste I buy. In my mind, most toothpastes are the same and when picking up some from the store, I usually just grab a tube of whatever happens to be on sale. After all, my dentist has told me that any toothpaste with flouride will do just fine. Last time I went to the store to by toothpaste, a new Aquafresh product called Extreme Clean Toothpaste happened to be the cheapest, so that is what I got. I wasn't really expecting it to be any different from the other products I had tried, but I was sure in for a big surprise.

The first time I used the Aquafresh Extreme Clean Toothpaste to brush my teeth, I immediately noticed that it had a much stronger flavor than most other toothpastes. This strong mint taste was surprising yet cooling and refreshing at the same time. At first, the Aquafresh Extreme Clean Toothpaste felt like normal, but after a few seconds of brushing, a strange thing began to happen. The toothpaste actually started to foam up and I could feel millions of tiny little bubbles in my mouth. It was an odd sensation at first, but I have to say it was kind of pleasant. Because of the foaming action of the Aquafresh toothpaste, I found myself spitting more than normal while brushing my teeth, which wasn't necessarily a bad thing. After I was done brushing and rinsed my mouth out with water, my mouth felt very clean and minty, and to a much greater extent than it usually did with "regular" toothpastes.

I continued using the Aquafresh Extreme Clean Toothpaste for several weeks, and I really did grow to like the product very much. One day, I used a small travel tube of Colgate I had lying around instead of the Aquafresh to brush my teeth, and afterwards my mouth didn't feel nearly as clean or refreshed as it did with the Aquafresh product. I have to say that, although in the past I didn't care about which toothpaste I bought, I will now look specifically for Aquafresh Extreme Clean Toothpaste when I am at the store. Aquafresh managed to take a product that was old and boring, tweak it a bit, and make it a brand new experience, which I love.
