Archuleta Brings Out Good and Evil on American Idol

ChaCha Cha
I have a theory about David Archuleta. He is the 17 year old prodigy on American Idol that was a phenomenom early on and who I have watched with great interest as the press and viewers attack him for his goodness. His simple goodness makes people angry. What is this world really coming to anyway? At first, many loved him, loved his message, his voice, and his sweet humility. He could do no wrong and had many in tears. But there were also nay-sayers early on as well within the media and the viewing audience. They hated him immediately. No real reason, just didn't like that aw-shucks, humble, positive role model concept. After all, this kid wants to send a positive "message". He has manners. He has no sordid past. But one thing was clear, they didn't feel comfortable with all of that squeaky clean stuff! In fact, many had to comment on him saying they didn't want to be preached to or that his humility was certainly "fake" and it was all an act, etc., There couldn't be someone still believing in doing good with no other motive. Could it be that many of these same people that have issues just need to dirty up little David Archuleta so that they feel more comfortable? I think it's quite an interesting observation of good and evil at work.

There has been good an evil since the Fall of Adam. David Archuleta seems to be filled with kindness. It's real and it's spiritually uplifting. When I read many of the comments out there, I can't help but ponder and have genuine concern for our culture or our "bar" for lack of a better word.Call me crazy, but I am drawn to the uplfiting. I like Archuleta for many reasons. He has am amazing talent. A voice like an angel. A compass that is pointed in the right direction, a love for music and a desire to make a difference with his music and message. I can't understand for the life of me why that is bad. More importantly, why so many others have to create a negative spin to the whole thing. David has done nothing but be polite and sing well. He is truly good and in this world of light and goodness, vs. darkness and evil, I will bet on the good guy to win. My vote is for David Archuleta, American Idol 2008.

As for the rest of you Archuleta bashers, I feel sorry for you. One word of advice. Pack light. I hear it gets pretty warm down there.

EXCELLENT write up! I echo your sentiments. What is society coming to when humility and genuine goodness is a bad thing? An article at the Salt Lake Tribune written by Vince Horiuchi had a small blurb from a lady who lives near David. She said while she was pregnant, David offered to rake her yard and what not. He refused any sort of payment and he cleaned up her yard several times. That lady has nothing to gain by sharing that, and David obviously is not an evil genious planning years in advance on how to make himself look good. Things like that really show what kind of person David is. He just so happens to have an amazing voice too! He's an excellent role model for young kids. Actually, I'm sure some adults could learn a thing or two from him too :)

Great write up chachacha! It is interesting how offended people get when they see/hear of someone demonstrating goodness to the world. It is nothing new unfortunately. The world has done the same thing to our Lord and Savior...before His crucifixion and after His resurrection.

    Stay cool in the AC!

Love it and totally agree. I get so tired of people bashing David A. It's about time someone told them where to go! He is the best I've seen on Idol.

Well written. Archuleta is certainly a very talented singer. Try breaking up your paragraphs, it makes for easier reading. Not sure if you needed that last paragraph about fire and damnation for Archuleta bashers. We can all have our own opinions about entertainers, can't we? Archuleta and Cook in the finals. And this year's American Idol is...?
