I am highly allergic to strawberries and avoid them, and cannot even go into a field were wild strawberries are growing because it will cause a reaction. I avoid them in the grocery store by not going near the fruit items, I send my children over to that area instead, as I will not take the chance.
Fast food restaurant Milkshakes
My daughter got a chocolate milkshake from a worldwide fast foods restaurant the other night, as long with a strawberry milk shake for my three-year-old granddaughter. The strawberry milkshake was made first, and there was a hint of strawberry in the chocolate milkshake.
To most people this would not matter, but to myself and other people who are highly allergic to strawberries it just maybe deadly. At this particular fast food restaurant, they make very popular shakes and the strawberry flavored ones have artificial as well as natural flavorings in them.
My son who works at this very same fast food chain restaurant recognized worldwide explained to us that all the milkshakes come from one machine, which I knew. However, he went on to say that, the milk shake mixture travels through on plastic line no matter the flavor. He said that works there know that this happens so they usually waste a bit of the milkshake mixture between flavor changes, but not all employees do this.
Being highly allergic to strawberries, I can never take that type of risk, as I have full-blown allergic reactions that require a shot. Granted I could see some fool using this bit of knowledge in a frivolous lawsuit, but once I learned of this and realized the ramifications I had to alert the public about it. The frivolous lawsuits would just join the others in the claims with fast food chain restaurant recognized worldwide; their lawyers would sort it out.
The aim of this article is to simply point out the fact to those people like my self who are allergic to strawberries so that they can avoid all fast food restaurant milk shakes because they all have the same type of milkshake machines.
I love milkshakes but I will not risk an allergic reaction for one, instead I will make them at home from now on.
Growing up in the country and running in fields, which had all types of berries growing in them, I was fine unless I brushed against a wild strawberry plant. Now today I cannot even walk within 5 foot of these strawberry plants or I break out in hives. Perhaps the spores are in the air or something but I simply am not willing to risk it.
