Are Animal Planet's Dave Salmoni and Chelsea Handler Dating?

It is no secret that my two favorite television personalities are comedian Chelsea Handler (who has a late night talk show on E!) and the deliciously hunky animal lover known as Dave Salmoni (he can be seen regularly on Animal Planet). But now it appears that my two favorite celebrities are now not so secret paramours.

While this does devastate me somewhat on a personal level because I had great hopes that one day Mr. Salmoni would marry me on a beach in Hawaii. But, alas, it appears that Dave has outed himself as a straight man. At least he is engaging in his alternative lifestyle with a woman as talented as one Ms. Chelsea Handler.

Rumors that Chelsea had a crush on the Canadian animal trainer were well known to regular viewers of her nighttime talk show "Chelsea Lately." She would end many of her opening monologues with a slow whisper of the words "Salmoooooni." Perhaps her incessant mentioning of his name on the show was her way of telling him that she had a crush on him. Join the club girl!

The whole (still rumored) romance finally came to light when the New York Daily News broke the story to its gossip hungry readership. This, however, still has not led to Chelsea or Dave admitting to the fact that they are dating.

On a recent episode of "Chelsea Lately," however, viewers were treated to a video taken on a boat during a trip to Mexico. So who was sitting next to Chelsea in just a pair of board shorts? Dave Salmoni, of course.

But Chelsea and Dave seem to be enjoying the art of sending mixed signals to the public in regards to their romance. On a recent episode of "Chelsea Lately" Mr. Salmoni was a guest yet instead of her usual flirtation Chelsea acted like she was annoyed with him during the entire interview. Dave then told her to "keep her distance" as if he feared she was stalking him. Funny, I don't think you go on vacation with your stalker.

Now, news that Dave Salmoni is dating a woman may be heartbreaking to his legions of gay fans but at least we can take heart knowing that he is dating another gay icon-one Chelsea Handler. While they are both insanely pretty to look at, it is Dave who is the softer spoken half of the duo. But they do say opposites attract.
