Are Any of the Guys There for Ashley Hebert on 'The Bachelorette'?

COMMENTARY | We're four weeks into ABC's "The Bachelorette" and Ashley Hebert has us paranoid.

After the heartbreaking roasting and dumping she endured last week, Ashley is questioning if any of the guys are there for her (one guy quipped he wished Chantal O'Brien or Emily Maynard was "The Bachelorette" instead of Hebert).

This week, Ashley tried to cure her blues with a quick jaunt to Renaissance Phuket Resort and Spa in southern Thailand -- and three dates with the remaining 12 guys.

But even after her romantic one-on-one date with Constantine, her brotherly one-on-one with Ames and her way-too-crowded group date with the other 10 guys, the old insecurities kept creeping up.

Ashley is ready to guard and protect her own heart, and she wants to know who is there to meet her and who is there for a free ride around the world on ABC's dime.

And after Bentley Williams' cruel dumping of her last week, Ashley's radar is definitely up.

Sure, some of the guys seem sincere. She lights up like a firecracker when she kisses JP, who's like a Prince Charming as he carries her across the beach.

Other guys may just be in it for the competition and to make it to the next tropical locale.

Ashley goes into her date with Constantine nearly sure that she will be sending him home. But he assures her that he's there for the right reasons and just wants to get to know her better.

When Ashley contemplates giving Ames a rose after their chummy one-on-one, his eyes are all on the rose as she dangles it in front of him.

Ryan P., who is always "ON," is getting on the guys' nerves, but he tells Ashley that he can't help but have a lot of energy (his chest is "bursting with a lot of love"). But is all that energetic love for her?

The fact that the guys don't know who the Bachelorette will be when they sign up for the show is indication enough that the show isn't anything like a Match.com match-up.

Later, in the obligatory one-on-one with host Chris Harrison, the subject of Bentley Williams comes up -- again.

Ashley says, "There isn't great closure," which paves the way for next week's return of Williams (you didn't really think you'd seen the last of him, now did you?)

This week Ashley sent West Lee home, a guy she didn't have a connection with and who still seemed to be mourning the death of his wife. But a disappointed West assured home viewers that he was ready to find love again.

Looks like Ashley was the one playing heartbreaker this week.
