Are Birth and Death in the Hands of God?

One may argue that the person who was killed must have done something bad in his previous life. Agreed. But why make the killer a scape goat? The person who killed should not be blamed then?

If death is not in the hands of God..... anyone can kill any one, isn't it? So an innocent person can also be killed anytime.

I am a staunch believer of God. But this question used to haunt me and trouble me. I tried asking few knowledgeable people. But none could give me a satisfying answer. I asked this question in the Yahoo Answers too. But still could not get a good answer which would clear all my doubts. Then finally I tried asking God (my Krishna). I bowed down before him and prayed him begging him to provide me the answer.

One may think what is the need of this question being answered. For me this was very important, since I do not want to keep any doubt in my mind about God.
So after bowing down in front of my Lord Krishna, I opened randomly a page in Bhagvad Gita (holy book in Hindu religion). This is what I found....

I cannot submit the text from the book since it violates the copyright conditions. So I will summarize it in my own words.

According to ones bad karma(deed) one can get the body of a killer and has to work under the spell of that bodily situation. If he surrenders to the Lord he may not be inclined to kill some one. But if he continues his bad karmas he will be inclined to kill. The person who will be killed by him must have also committed bad deeds. Supersoul seated within the heart directs the living being. The individual is always under the Lord's control i.e he gets the body accordingly. So the killer is also under the Lords control but he may kill because he got a particular body and a bodily situation because of his past karmas and desires. But a person who has not done any bad deeds will not be killed. This is where Lords control takes place. This is the answer of my question.

Many people would not believe it. Not believing something is easy but then one should provide an alternative theory. If one is unable to provide an alternative theory , he should atleast give some thought to other people's beliefs.
