Are Blogs History Today?

Blogs are yet another means of promoting your service. This use of blogs is seen very rarely.

People use blogs for discussing general topics and comments are posted for that topic.

Weblog is another name for a blog.

Many blogs concentrate on a particular subject only, whereas, other blogs have varied topics. You know, you can even earn money with blogs by placing Google ads in between the blog entries and if a user finds some interesting ad and clicks on the same, you will be earning revenue for it. This is another reason why blogs have gained popularity on the internet.

Blogs are also used to protest about a company's product, to show hatred for terrorism, etc. Blogs that focus on art are called art blogs. Blogs that focus on photographs are called photo blogs. Blogs that focus on sketches are sketch blogs. And so on. Some different types of blogs are:

Personal Blog

Personal Blogs contain entries related to personal matters or topics of personal discussion like a person's diary, or a celebrity's diary. Although, if you include your own diary in a blog then it might be possible that no one visits that blog but still that blog has some importance. It carries a person's feelings and shows how they live life. People are more interested in a celebrity's life. So a blog with a celebrity's diary is likely to get thousands of hits in a day.

Corporate Blog

Corporate Blogs are private blogs that are not accessible to the outside world. Corporate Blogs are meant for the employees of the company where discussions are held among the employees. Also, in some cases, these blogs are used to post general information as this is the fastest way to communicate a message to the whole organization.

Questioning Blogs

As the name suggests Questioning Blogs are meant to post questions and then several users give their answers according to their level of knowledge. You can rate the answers given by a user to a particular question. This way the reliability of the answer can be determined. One such blog is wikianswers.com where you can find questions related to any topic.

Genre Blogs

There are some blogs that focus only on a particular subject like a political blog, dream blogs, quizzing blogs, music blogs (more often referred to as mp3 blogs), education blogs, fashion blogs, house blogs, etc. You might be shocked to hear that there are some blogs that are used only for spamming. Such blogs are called Splog or Spam Blog.

If you are also interested in blogging then you should go for a personal or a general blog and avoid such blogs that deal with political issues. These blogs can pose a serious threat to your life if some words are spoken against a politician or a political issue is raised. You can also be imprisoned for posting on illegal topics. For example, in Singapore two Chinese were imprisoned for posting anti-Muslim content on their blog.

Blogs are basically a way of communicating to many and can expand your knowledge and horizons if used ethically.
