ARE YOU a BORING CHRISTIAN?

Csilla Elam
All this past week the Lord has been speaking to me about the power of our words, about prayer, about the intent of the heart, and more.

Have you ever had that happen to you that you know God is speaking way too many things in your life at ONCE and you feel so overwhelmed and in the same time you are so in love with Him that you would change anything; ANYTHING just to see Him glorified and your like making an impact.

I am not only talking about here and there making a difference, but that when you walk into a room, people will feel and see that you are different. When you speak, things happen. When you pray, things happen, and when you are in suffering, you guessed it right, things happen.

Take Smith Wigglesworth for example. If you have not heard about him, just google. He is dead now, but you can read about his life. He was so full of the power of God, that wherever he went people got healed. Do you know how he healed people? By punching them in the stomach. Jesus never gave a method of healing. It is not the method, but the faith of the one praying that heals the sick. You can choose whatever method helps your have faith. Punching helped Smith. He believed that the moment he punched, the disease would leave; and it did. The other thing about him is that he would ride the train and as the old times had it, people would be in oen room sitting across from one another. As he was sitting there, people started getting convicted of their sins and asking him what did they needed to do to get saved. He wasn't even talking to them! Why? Because the presence of God was so strong in him, that it emanated from his belly; rivers of living water from his belly; the very life of Christ was flowing out of him and brought life to others! Eternal life was right there and people tapped into it. There is another incident with Smith. One night he was sleeping and heard some noise in his house. He wakes up and goes around looking to see what it was. The devil himself was there. Smith looks at him and says, "Oh..it's just you!" LOL. That is awesome! Most of us believers are terrified of the devil, when the Bible says that when God is going to reveal satan to us, we will say, " Is this the one that deceived us?" It sounds to me like he is not someone we should let throw us around like some weak puppets! His power lies only in lying to me and you.

John G. Lake. He was another history figure. Now, it is true that you will always find controversial things about all these people. Nothing was different then. Things are the same today. There are people that will think well of you as well as bad. You ask the Lord to confirm by His Spirit what He wants to show you. So, anyway, John G. Lake. He died in 1935, so before that time things were rough. His family members were dying like crazy of some kind of plague. Through difficult circumstances he finds a man who dared to believe Acts 10:38 and applied it in his life and bro. Lake learned from thins man. Later he seprates himself from this man bc the man started going weird a little, but nevertheless , Lake took the good and ran with it. 100,000 documented healings happened in Washington DC under his ministry because he saw disease as an enemy not a pet. As bro Curry Blake says, " Doctors are better than Christians, because they see a disease and realize we got to get rid of this enemy, yet believers think God sent disease to us to teach us something".

When bro. Lake believed sickness was an enemy he went forward and with his team they healed thousands and hundred thousands of people. No, there was nothing special about Washington becauase later he moved to another city and same thing happened there. It is the man of God that believes that God can do something through. He was so full of the Spirit of God that Harvard University checked him out to see what was different about him and they found that his brain functioned differently when he prayed in tongues and bacteria and viruses were dying as soon as they touched his skin. WOW! Washington became one of the healthiest cities in the country to the point that doctors and nurses were quitting their jobs because as they put it, " there is a better way". I bet you most Christian nurses and doctors would not want to see people healed today at that extent because they might not have workd and need money.Yes! I saw this atittude while I worked in a hospital. Nurses wanted people to be sick so they can have a paycheck. Hmm..think about that if you are a healthcare worker. Would you want people healed so much that it would mean you had no work anymore? No paycheck? God loves to heal. He is a healer. Jesus paid for it already so why in the world should we let satan have our bodies when we were paid for by the King of Kings?

George Muller. He diciced that he would not ask anyone ever for anything, but pray. Every time he needed something he just asked God for it. He built an orphanage that had food and everything it needed to house alot of children. There goes our excuse that, " I do not have money to do what God wants me to do!" The truth is, I noticed in my own life that one of the laws of the Kingdom of God is that of sowing and reaping. Unless you start sowing, you will not reap. Unless you start doing something with the little you have, you will not have more. Our frustration comes often because we are ignorant of the laws of the Kingdom of God aka "His WAYS". This world operates by laws. Why should the Kingdom of God( which is the spiritual world) operate any differently? It is pointless to ask God for more money and THEN you can do things. He will not do it. Now sometimes things like that happen, but not because that is how things should be. The law of the Kingdom fo God is to sow what you have and then you will have more. As bro Curry Blake says, " Each seed will produce of its kind". You do not sow money and get a house. You sow money, you get money. You pray for healing, you will be healthy. I even heard of a testimonby of a person giving a van and got a bigger car. Now, it is true that if you get money you can go and buy whatever with it, but I am just trying to say that it is not the norm in the Kingdom to get something different than what you sow. We know that here on Earth is we sow pumpkin sees, we will get a pumpkin. The Kingdom is not much different.

George Muller had so much faith and he recorded everything and nto for the purpose of boasting, but to prove that God WILL give us what we ask for IF we just believe. His stuff was evaluated and worth around 2 million dollars or so (if I remember well) . That is the monetary value of the stuff He received ONLY through prayer.

Jacob. Esau's brother. Was born seconds after Esau. So, he was second, but he understood the value of the blessing of God; the blessing that comes when one pursuades God. Read his story in Genesis and also Hosea 12 starting with verse 4.Ever since he was born he fought to be first, to be blessed first, to win even in his fight with the angel. You know in Genesis it doesnt mention that he asked for the blessing crying, but Hosea 12 will tell you that. He fought and he fought to be blessed and because of his pursuasion, he was. His name, Jacob , which means deceiver, was changed to Israel, the one who fights with God! Makes you think twice parents about naming your child, Jacob. I would not. Jacob understood that his name was a curse; it was wordly. I will write an article about the power of our words and names of our children adn how important is to make sure what you call your child every day because whatever you call them every day, that is what you speak over them daily; and a name wil do that. If I call my child every day, "deceiver come here", what kind of a blessing is that ? Hmm...yes, Jacob sounds nice when you do not think about the meaning, but you have to go deeper and realize that calling your child that way when the name means more, it is a curse. Yes, our words have power. There is life and death in the tongue. Names are the ones we use daily on our children, so please be careful what you call them. I hope you dont get defensive because God said that there is power in our words, not I. Like Leah for example which means "rejected by God". I wanted to name my daughter that, until I found out what it means. Yes, it sounds so nice and feminine, but I will not go in life speaking over my daughter that. " hey, rejected by God! Come here! Don't go there rejected by God! " Anyway...I am way off the subject here, but you need to hear that, too.

So, Jacob. God has been showing twice in two days this story and I wonder why. For me I believe God wants to point out 2 things:

1. If I am a believer in Jesus, I dont have to beg for the blessing because I am IN CHRIST. Those who are in Him they are already blessed. Yet, we act like we are cursed or something.

2. Pursuasion. Jacob wanted something from God and He got it because he insisted. Do you want something from God? I dont believe we have to beg and beg and beg from God, but there are times when you have to PERSIST in fighting the enemy. Say it as Jacob said, " I will NOT give up until God's will is done on Earth as it IS already in Heaven". In heaven there is no sickness, no crying, no depression, no pain, no lack, no..........whatever else you can think of.

Where there is Jesus, there is LIFE; abundant LIFE. And we dont have to wait until we go to Heaven to experience it. Jesus taught us that prayer, "Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on EARTH as it IS in Heaven". In heaven Gods' will is done all the time and it is up to us to make that will be done on Earth. That is what Jesus said. But most of us live with the hope that, " Well, one day...God's will will be done in Heaven", when God wants to establish His will ON Earth NOW.

Wil you be the next in line to be talked about that you lived like these people? Will you be next in line that will pursue thruth and that God's will would be done on Earth as it is done in Heaven? The angels are doing their jobs in heaven and we were sent on Earth to do His will here. Everyone is designated somwhere to do God's will. We need to stop wishing we were up there to do what the angels are doing up there. We have a mission here on Earth. Some understood that and some still do not understand.

Which kind of person will you be?
