Are Celebrities Hiring Ghost Writers to Twitter?
Is the Celebrity You Are Following Really the One Twittering?
However, it seems recently, everyone is Twittering. From President Obama to Shaq, John Mayer to Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore to Britney and Jamie Spears. Even Rumor Willis started tweeting after urging from Ashton and Demi. As soon as Rumor joined, Demi and Ashton asked us fellow twitters to welcome Rumor to twitter. A lot of people, including myself, sent messages welcoming her.
It has recently been determined that some celebrities use a ghost write to write their tweet. Ghost writers are used a lot of times to help write speeches, upcoming books and sometimes even blogs. But with the maximum tweet only capable of being 140 characters, I have a problem with celebrities hiring ghost writers simply to write their tweet. Are you really too busy to type 140 characters to your fans. Some celebrities, like Britney Spears, sometimes have their manager tweet for them. Britney herself tweets sometimes, but other times it is her manager, Adam, who signs each tweet personally, so we are not lead to believe it is Britney herself.
Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher tweet themselves. Sometimes responding to each other. Others like Soleil Moon Frye tweets, most often asking questions such as "if you were stranded on an deserted island for one month and could bring one thing, what would it be".
I have no problem with other people writing celebrity tweets, so long as they sign it themselves. In the case of Britney Spears, sometimes she tweets - sometimes it is her manager Adam who tweets for her. I know who the tweet comes from by the signature. Adam does not post something to have us believe it is Brit.
I do not want to read a conversation going on between someone that I think is someone else. Don't mislead us. If your ghost writer does the writing, simply have them sign the tweet. That way we do not think we are tweeting with someone other than who we think it is.
Come on celebrities !! It is 140 words. Not a hard thing to do. However, if you feel the need for assistance, that is fine. Just let your fans know that it is your manager, partner or personal relations person who is doing the tweeting.

Post a CommentI have completed several manuscripts and would like to know if you are aware of any well-known authors who would be interested in reviewing this sci-fi novel and perhaps consider publishing it under your name.
I love to write; however, I do not like public appearances and notoriety.
Thank you,
