Are Celtic Wedding Rings Appealing to You?

Advice for Men Thinking About Proposing with an Irish Ring

When my wife and I first started looking for wedding rings, we were looking more at the basic plain gold sets. She noticed that a friend of hers had a very beautiful ring and when asked what it was, she discovered that it was known as a Celtic ring.

Worldwide, Celtic rings have been a popular tradition in closely binding a couple together based on their heritage and also for their beautifully scrolled artwork. The popularity of this tradition can be traced back to many Irish centuries.

Celtic wedding rings offer many different styles and designs that couples may find the most appealing to choose from. With an eye for detail, Celtic wedding rings encompass the intricacy of design and beauty. These beautiful wedding rings are often incorporated with a spirally designed theme which incorporates the symbols of life and the natural energy of the universe.

Other themes may represent an interlacing knot, which is the symbol for love without end. These styles of wedding rings are the choice of couples where both spirituality and beauty is of the utmost importance.
Ladies are generally more 'wedding ring' friendlier than men in terms of jewelry terminology and gemology. Women usually desire to have their wedding rings match their engagement rings.
Following are a few tips that many women consider when choosing their wedding ring sets:

Aside from the style, ladies may take in consideration the width, shape (straight or curved fit), type of metal and gemstones.

Men, on the other hand (no pun intended), look for a wedding ring design that is appropriate for their lifestyle, such as comfort, personality, matching designs and gemstones as well.

Celtic wedding rings can be produced in a number of different finishes. These may depend upon your own specifications and budget.
Most Celtic wedding rings are featured in either silver, gold, white gold, platinum, titanium and also with diamonds or other choices of gems.Prices will vary anywhere from $50 to over $5000.

For many years, silver has been extremely popular with both men and women. It is also a less expensive alternative to gold or platinum rings. For Gothic weddings, silver is the most preferred precious metal.

Gold, still remaining to be the most favorite precious metal of the jewelry industry, is the choice for the majority of couples. Most Celtic rings made of gold are usually 14kt and 18kt.

A much rarer and more expensive precious metal is the beautiful, silvery white platinum. This precious metal is extremely hard wearing and is resistant to corrosion. Platinum is known for it's durability and will outlast gold wedding rings by many years. Platinum is much heavier in weight than gold and more care must be given with platinum than with gold. It is more difficult to polish than gold and if it is scratched, it is very difficult to refinish.

Titanium rings are beginning to be the wedding rings of the future. It's popularity is not so much in it's properties, but mostly because of it's abilities of being able to create very gorgeous and trending looking rings. Although it is cheaper than 9kt white gold and platinum, it becomes more expensive in the long run, mainly because of it's difficulty to work with. Titanium is resistant to many chemicals and acids and is best known for it's durability and strength.

Diamonds are the most chosen and favored of all precious gems. They are indeed forever and as always, diamonds are still a girls best friend. Being the hardest stones available, the price of diamonds increase dramatically based on the size of the chosen carat.

If you're looking for a combination of quality, beauty and value, Celtic wedding rings are well worth considering.
