Were Charlie Sheen and his estranged wife Brooke Mueller swingers?

A woman is shopping her story that claims that she and the troubled couple enjoyed drug fueled threesomes together. In addition, Radar.com is reporting that sources close to the couple are saying that Mueller and Sheen shared sex partners, both female and male, during their marriage and that "it (the couple's relationship) is more twisted than anyone knows or has suspected...it's crazy."

Both Sheen and Mueller are in rehab presently, learning to deal with their various addictions. While the world at large already knows about their well publicized Christmas Day fight, if it is true that they participated in threesomes and bisexual relationships, it could have a significant impact on Sheen's acting career.

Rightly or wrongly, the entertainment business is generally forgiving when it comes to matters such as a domestic disputes, substance abuse and even extramarital affairs. But if it comes out that Sheen and his wife were involved in group sex with both men and women, his days as a primetime network television star might be numbered.

Network television is driven by ratings and the resulting ad dollars. If even a few percentage points worth of viewers stop tuning in to watch Sheen's show, Two and Half Men, it could impact revenues. Even more potentially damaging, however, would be public pressure on advertisers to not support the show of a man who had group sex with his wife and other men and women.

While it is shocking to nobody that Charlie Sheen might have misbehaved and has lived a very fast lifestyle, it will be shocking if part of that lifestyle involves watching his wife with other people, both women and me, and if he too had sex with both men and women in front of his wife.

When Sheen was married to Denise Richards, rumors swirled that he was still very much a party and other woman driven individual. While there was some salacious innuendo at the time, no definitive proof ever surfaced, at least not publicly, that would have embarrassed him beyond repair in the eyes of the entertainment business.

But with Sheen seemingly at rock bottom in his relationship with his wife and his addictions, a tell all book that is taken seriously by the public could deliver a fatal blow to his network driven career. If that happens, look for Sheen to land on a cable channel less dependent on advertising dollars.
