Are Columbus, Georgia, Restaurants Cleaning Up? Sure They Are!

Doug Sellers
Most restaurants are exceptionally clean. Cleaner than some of our homes I expect. Restaurant cleanliness can easily be discerned in the lobby and restroom facilities and most families would rather choose another eating establishment that return to a restaurant with worn out carpet, torn booth coverings or even a single insect sighting. Many times questions of cleanliness in the kitchen area where the food is prepared are not foremost in our minds in choosing a restaurant. After all, we have government regulations to protect us, city ordinances that are enforced, and restaurant inspection reports to tell us how a restaurant is storing, handling and preparing our food before it comes to us. Needless to say the food looks awfully good and many times we are hungry in anticipation of the upcoming meal or we wouldn't be in the restaurant in the first place, right?

Of course. Remember those inspection reports mentioned earlier? Where are they anyway? That's right...they are on the wall of the restaurant when you walk in the door...easily visible. That's the law. However, how many people see an 81 out of a 100 on the report and decide to eat somewhere else. Considering time to park, deciding where else to eat, going to the back of the line of the new choice once we arrive, all the while getting more hungry doesn't seem to warrant not risking a little salmonella now and then. Until you have a "face to face" encounter with a "starving" foodborne disease there is no regret for taking a little personal responsibilty.

What if you could, at your leisure, review the restaurant inspection reports of your favorite eateries, bars, cafes and such? Would you? Maybe in a fit to displace some boredom you might be compelled to follow where the meticulous restaurant inspector lead for a little, but the journey would have to be convenient and available for short intermittent trips. Well for Columbus Ga, that trip is available and the residents just might find it educational and entertaining. Restaurant inspection reports are available anytime are convenient. Just go to Columbus Ga Restaurants and find out if that chicken you ate was as healthly as it looked!
