Are Companies Fearful of Hiring People Now?

The current state of the U.S. economy is not just hard on the people living here but it is also bad for companies here. Many companies are no longer just concerned about their productivity but they are concerned about the posterity as well. I believe that as a result of these difficult economic times that we are enduring that companies have become hiring new employees.

Although our economic is seriously struggling with no immediate signs of recovery in sight it still does not justify this latest moratorium in company's hiring process. I remember the times when you could walk past a business and see a "HELP WANTED" sign in the window. You could pick that sign up and take it to the owner and you would literally be hired right there on the spot. It is not that easy in this day in time because now companies are selfishly acting like they do not need people to achieve their common goal of being profitable. There would be no need for this fear of hiring if companies would eliminate positions of overly paid executives; also if people are at the age of retirement the company should force them out. This may sound both unfair harsh but if you are 65 and older how much more money can you possibly make at the job? Retire and give someone else an employment opportunity. If every large company made an extra effort to hire at least 200 people this would help both the economy and the unemployment rate. Right now if you see a company doing a lot of hiring it most likely has an extremely high turnover rate because everybody else seems to be at an employment stalemate.

It is ashamed that companies have allowed the state of the U.S. economy to dictate their hiring process. The same risk that they take everyday gambling on the stop market can be place toward hiring efforts. I have never seen companies in such a state of fear when it came to hiring new employees. In order for this country to one day exit this economic slump it is mandatory the companies open the doors for employment opportunities.
